Who's Up For Mt. Kilamanjaro??

Kenya, Africa

  • Humid and wet.

  • Receives an average of 41 inches of rainfall per year.
  • Temperatures range from 21- 13 degrees C in Nairobi.
  • Kenya's currency is the Kenyan Schilling.
  • Kenya's native language is Swahili, English, and a mix: Sheng.

  • Kenya is 7 hours ahead of Chicago, US.

Itinerary

  • You will arrive in Kenya from Paris at 12:00pm. Yeah that's right, it's a 12 and a half hour flight. Aren't you used to it yet you little baby?

  • So this trip is going to be a little different for you.

  • The only activity that you are going to be doing in Kenya, that i have planned for you, is to explore Mt. Kilamanjaro in true Hemingway fashion. The thing is, you have a whole day to do anything you want because you will miss the first days plane that goes to Mt. Kilamanjaro. The plane leaves at 11pm everyday. So have fun finding something to do.

  • In Nairobi, you will be staying at the Hilton Nairobi to get your rest in. This hotel is surrounded by museums and parks, so in case you're bored...

  • But since you are only doing one activity, here is some informational facts for you to know what you are getting yourself into:

  1. Mt. Kilamanjaro is a stratovolcano located in Tanzania, but it is inactive. It has three volcanoes coming out of it.

  2. Mt. Kilamanjaro is Africa's tallest peak at 5,895m or 19,340ft.

  3. Due to Global Warming, it is believed that the tallest peak won't exist between 2015 and 2020.

  • Those are some great facts that i could give you and you'll definitely learn more when you arrive to the mountain.

  • After you get back from you'll have time to do whatever as i have said earlier.

  • On the third day, you will rent a car from Central Rent A Car in Nairobi, Kenya and drive to your next destination.

Cost of Kenya and Mt. Kilamanjaro

  • The cost of your hotel is $120 per night for two nights.

  • The cost of the round-trip flight from Nairobi to Mt. Kilamanjaro is $350.

  • The total cost of the rental car is $296.77. That is a steal. I worked hard to get that.

So, your approximate cost for this trip is $886.77 plus your cute little souvenirs.
