Time To Part Ways.

Dear Brady, The Traveler,
I hope you really enjoy this trip. It's the Greatest Hemingway Adventure Ever. No one could do more activities and see into Ernest Hemingway's life as you will. You will see everything and learn to appreciate him more than you ever have.
I am honored to have made this insanely awesome trip for you. It was my pleasure. Especially ruining it when you get to Ketchum and not have anymore money to get home. And you won't even see this warning message because it's in the fine print. The only thing not in the fine print is the money that you owe me.

Here is your grand total approximate cost for the whole trip: $15,197.06

Thank you kindly,
BJ WALKER

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

  • Minimum temperature is about 5 degrees F in January.

  • The currency of Ketchum is the USD.

  • The official language is English.

  • Ketchum is 1 hour behind Chicago.

Itinerary

  • Arrive at the Sun Valley Airport at 4:08pm after a 10 hour flight from Cancun.
  • The hotel you will be staying at is the Clarion Inn of Sun Valley. This hotel is in Ketchum and is located one mile away from the Ernest Hemingway Memorial. You're there for three days and two nights.
  • These activities are going to be about remembering Ernest Hemingway and what a great writer he was and how his family ties finally caught up to him.
  1. The first activity I want you to do is to visit 400 East Canyon Run. This is Hemingway's home in Ketchum and is where he killed himself with a shotgun through his mouth. You'll learn all about it when you go.
  2. Next, visit the Ketchum Cemetery and visit his gravesite. And the Ernest Hemingway Memorial while you're at it.
  3. Lastly, this has nothing to do with Hemingway but Ketchum itself. Take a walk along the railway that brought so much publicity into the old mining town that is know as Ketchum.
  • These activities should show you to appreciate Hemingway in his last home that he knew.

Cost of Ketchum, Idaho

  • In Ketchum, you shouldn't have to spend that much money, mainly for the hotel. The hotel is $80 per night for two nights.
  • Also, the flight from Cancun to Ketchum is $516.
  • No flight home that i scheduled...good luck with that one.

Your approximate cost for Ketchum, Idaho is going to be $676 plus your money for food.

GOOD LUCK GETTING HOME!

Havana, Cuba....This Should Be Fun!

Havana, Cuba

  • Mild and sub tropical climate with cool trade winds.

  • The average high temperature is 81 degrees F.

  • The average low temperature is 68 degrees F.

  • The national currency for Cuba is the Peso.

  • The national language is Spanish.

  • Havana is 1 hour ahead of Chicago, where we originally started.

Itinerary

  • Alright, so i had trouble finding you a flight into Havana since Cuba is so messed up right now, i don't want to get you shot. But anyways, i finally found one. You're going to be flying into Havana from Cancun...yeah Cancun.
  • So, i really did find out that you won't get shot while you're in Cuba, if you do, you can sue me.
  • Anyways, the hotel I found for you is called the Tropicoco Hotel. It looks pretty nice and it's cheap. It was first opened in 1976 and still looks amazing.
  • Now, the three activities this time around are kind of special because you are actually going to see some of Hemingway's belongings.
  1. Go to the bar La Floridita. Hemingway visited here very often and loved to come.
  2. Later, go to the Ambos Mundos Hotel and ask to see the room that Hemingway stayed in. It's Cuba so they will probly ask you for a couple bucks to see it, but it will be worth it.
  3. Finally, you can go on a restricted tour of Hemingway's boat that he bought in 1934 but a man named Gregorio Fuentes recieved it in Hemingway's will. Its located at Finca Vigia.
  4. Now, away from Havana, go to a place called the Vedado District. This place has great fishing and is where Hemingway himself took out his boat and went fishing.
  • So, all in all, those activities in Cuba should really be special since most of them actually deal with Ernie boy.

Cost of Havana Cuba

  • You don't have to pay for a flight this time around since I got you a roundtrip from and to Cancun. From Cancun you can go to your next destination. But no price for a flight.
  • A couple bucks to see Hemingway's hotel room: $2.
  • The cost of the hotel, which is $93.97 per night for two nights.
  • And that's it besides your personals.

The approximate cost for Havana is around $190.

This is a very prestige hotel with marble bathrooms with bathrobes that you can cop and take home...but you have to be sneaky. They also have beautiful Murano glass chandeliers. I don't think you can take one of those, someone might become suspicious.
  • Back to the regular routine of the three activities in three days. These you'll like!
  1. Go to Harry's Bar. Hemingway was well known there. He also loved it very much.
  2. Visit the terace by the Venetian Hotel. That's the spot where Hemingway read his obituary in the newspaper, in the story headlined "Hemingway, Wife, Killed in Air Crash." That's some freaky shat!
  3. Meet with the Franchetti guy that has Hemingway's Suite booked and talk to him about Hemingway and his involvement in Venice.
  4. I'm adding this one for your enjoyment. One night go back to the Hotel Gritti and chuck wine bottles out of the same window as Hemingway himself did at the hotel after a long night.
  • All of these activities are a much when you get to Venice.
  • Get ready for your next trip, it'll be a joy.

Cost of Venice

  • After doing these activities, you won't spend that much money, besides on your drinks and food and the hotel. which is about $850 a night for two nights.

  • So this trip is going to be a little different for you.

  • The only activity that you are going to be doing in Kenya, that i have planned for you, is to explore Mt. Kilamanjaro in true Hemingway fashion. The thing is, you have a whole day to do anything you want because you will miss the first days plane that goes to Mt. Kilamanjaro. The plane leaves at 11pm everyday. So have fun finding something to do.

  • In Nairobi, you will be staying at the Hilton Nairobi to get your rest in. This hotel is surrounded by museums and parks, so in case you're bored...

  • But since you are only doing one activity, here is some informational facts for you to know what you are getting yourself into:

  • Those are some great facts that i could give you and you'll definitely learn more when you arrive to the mountain.

  • After you get back from you'll have time to do whatever as i have said earlier.

  • On the third day, you will rent a car from Central Rent A Car in Nairobi, Kenya and drive to your next destination.

Cost of Kenya and Mt. Kilamanjaro

  • The cost of your hotel is $120 per night for two nights.

  • The cost of the round-trip flight from Nairobi to Mt. Kilamanjaro is $350.

  • The total cost of the rental car is $296.77. That is a steal. I worked hard to get that.

So, your approximate cost for this trip is $886.77 plus your cute little souvenirs.

NEXT UP----UGANDA, AFRICA!!!

Time for Paris Love!

  • When you arrive, have the airport shuttle take you to your hotel to drop off your things. Your hotel you are staying in is the Hilton Paris Hotel.

  • After you drop your stuff off at the hotel, rent a scooter from the nearby Auto Europe so you have a way to get around the big city.

  • The activities I have chosen for Paris deal more with history. Here are the three:

  1. The number one thing i want you to do is drive your scooter over to 74 rue Cardinal Lemoine. This is it the first apartment the Hemingway Family ever lived in while in Paris. Soak it all in!

  2. Next, discover the magnificent artwork at the amazing Louvre Museum. It has the most wonderful artwork there is to offer.

  3. The third activity for you to do is to take an all day tour of "Normandy: The D-Day." Visit the things that Hemingway actually experienced. He was there! Also, the bus picks up and drops off from your hotel so that's a plus.

  • Now those are some pretty awesome activities. But also, you should think about visiting the Eiffel Tower if you have time.

  • But, don't run out of time. On the third day, your plane leaves at 10:35pm.

Cost of Paris, France

  • So, you actually have a set transportation cost for this trip: $90 per day for three days.

  • The cost of your hotel was 94 Euros per night for two nights...about $128 per night.

  • Then, there was the cost for the admission for 9 Euros or about $12.

  • The Normandy tour cost $160 for all day.

  • And finally, your next flight will cost you $1,235.

  • Very Nice!!

The approximate cost for the Paris trip including your next flight will be about $1,933 plus your other expenses.
